The Mercedes-Benz W211, which replaced the W210 E-Class vehicles and was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz W212 in 2009, is the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It was produced from 2002 to 2009 in sedan/saloon and station wagon/estate forms.
The E 63 AMG, which replaced the E 55 AMG, was the W211 engine updated high-performance model. To compete with the new wagon versions of the BMW M5 (E61) and Audi RS 6 (C6), it was also made available in the Estate body style in addition to the Saloon, albeit those two high-performance wagons were never released in North America. The running surfaces of the high-pressure die-cast alloy cylinder block in this engine were coated using twin-wire arc spray. It is 11.3:1 to compress data. The E 63 AMG was one of the world’s fastest production sports sedans, in the opinion of many auto journalists. [24] The acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) took the sedan (saloon) and wagon 4.3 seconds. The E 63 AMG had more power but less torque than the outgoing E 55 AMG, allowing it to be paired with the more recent 7G-Tronic automatic transmission.

A pillar of recent Mercedes-Benz history, the W211 engine E-Class offers performance and utility to the consumer at an affordable price. Engine options for the W211 included the OM642 and 648 diesel six-cylinders, the M112 and M272 V6s, the M113 and M273 V8s, and both sedan and wagon body styles.
Brake-by-wire was used for the first time in conjunction with the R230 model, and 4MATIC and rear-driven models were available. This feature allowed for the introduction of the “Sensotronic Brake System,” a pressure-manipulative braking system used to provide computer-automated stability control at each wheel (though this was shelved in 2006 save for lower-production vehicles like the R230 SL).
Through the use of a supercharged M113K, the E55 AMG delivered obscene amounts of power for the era while maintaining dependability thanks to a sturdy design. Late in the production cycle, the 6.2L naturally-aspirated M156 of the E63 offered comparable power. On the W211 engine in vehicles, the AIRMATIC suspension design was also fully mainstreamed.
