Caterpillar (USA) produces the industrial Caterpillar C15 ACERT engine, which has a 6-cylinder, in-line, 4-stroke, direct injection, turbocharging, intercooler, electronic control unit (ADEM TM A4), and a high pressure MEUI fuel system.
6-cylinder, in-line, 4-stroke, direct injection, turbocharging, intercooler, electronic control unit (ADEM TM A4), and high pressure MEUI fuel system make up the industrial Caterpillar C15 ACERT engine made by Caterpillar (USA).
Caterpillar C15 engine power ranges from 446 to 603 HP at 1800 to 2100 rpm. Using Advanced Combustion Emissions Reduction Technology, the engine satisfies Stage IIIA (European Union regulations) and Tier 3 (US EPA) emission standards (ACERT). It addresses the following 4 mechanisms to lessen the toxicity of exhaust gases:
the use of an electronic control and management system, the fuel system, the fuel combustion process, and the clean air intake system
Construction equipment, cranes, shredders, rippers, general industrial equipment, hydraulic power units, irrigation equipment, loaders / forwarders, mining equipment, earth moving machines, asphalt paving equipment, pumps, excavators / draglines, and trenchers are all examples of machines that can use the Caterpillar C15. Additionally, Caterpillar C15 was fitted to buses, trucks, and truck tractors made by well-known American automakers like Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Kenworth.
In harsh conditions, the engine operates continuously in IND-A mode (continuous operation), maintaining its maximum speed and power for 100% of the working day without interruption or varying the load.
When running in IND-B mode, the engine’s power and/or rotation speed sometimes drop below their maximum value (the percentage of time spent operating at full load does not exceed 80%).
IND mode – C (intermittent mode): operation of the Caterpillar C15 with periodic increases in power and/or speed to maximum levels (duration of operation at full load does not exceed 50% of the total operating time).
A periodic rise in power to the maximum amount is permitted while the engine is operating in IND-D mode (10% of the total operating time is not allowed for running at full load).
In the IND-E mode, maximum power is only needed briefly for starting or in the event of an unexpected overload. When the regular power level is insufficient for an emergency operation (run time at full load does not exceed 5% of the overall run time).
Engine activity:
Wide variety of working revolutions; PTO drive options allow flexible access to auxiliary power for pumps and other equipment. Robust construction increases life and reduces ownership and operating costs.
little upkeep
Operating costs are decreased due to decreased fuel usage, a minimum 5000-hour DPF cleaning period, and 250- or 500-hour oil change intervals.
engine management technology:
ADEM A4 Regulation System: Built-in features for variable injection, engine speed control, and protection
