Since the 1960s, Chrysler has provided the Hemi engine, which is currently in its third iteration. Chrysler has registered the name “Hemi” as a trademark because they liked the engine so much. Currently, it is a key selling point in all of their marketing materials and a hot topic of conversation among auto aficionados. Chrysler hemi engine
In 1948, Harry Westlake and a number of other individuals created a Hemi 6-cylinder engine for Jaguar, which gave rise to the HEMI engine for automobiles. A 180-horsepower HEMI V-8 engine was debuted by Chrysler on multiple cars in 1951, a few years later. The Chrysler HEMI engine is referred to as the “331 HEMI” since it has a 331 cubic inch (5.4 liter) displacement. Chrysler hemi engine
180 horsepower seems insignificant today. However, 180 horsepower was unheard of in 1951. For the time, it was an incredible amount of power, and it contributed to the “HEMI legend.”
In order to compliment the Magnum 5.9 engine in the Dodge Ram pickup trucks, the 5.7 L HEMI engine was introduced for model year 2003. It was the only gasoline engine offered for the Ram Heavy Duty as of 2004. In the following years, Chrysler added the 5.7 L Hemi to all trim levels of the 2004 Dodge Ram, Dodge Durango, 2005 Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum R/T, Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2006 Dodge Charger R/T, Jeep Commander, 2007 Chrysler Aspen, 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T, and 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. Cylinder deactivation is not included for manual gearbox applications (Challenger and 3/4- and 1-ton Ram pickups). Chrysler hemi engine
The Ram’s 5.7 L (345 cu in) Hemi produced 345 hp (257.3 kW) and 375 lb-ft (508 Nm), however the 300C and Magnum R/T only got 340 hp (253.5 kW) and 390 lb-ft (529 Nm), which is exactly 100 hp (74.6 kW) more than the previous 5.9 engine. It had a 90-degree V8, 2-valve pushrod design, 5,654 cc (345 cu in) of displacement, a bore of 3.917 in (99.49 mm), and a stroke of 3.578 in (90.88 mm). Chrysler hemi engine
The Chrysler Saltillo Engine facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico produces the 5.7 L Hemi.
The Hemi was included among the top ten engines by Ward’s from 2003 to 2007 and once more in 2009.
The following vehicles use this engine:
Ram Pickup, 2003–the present
Dodge Durango (2004-2009, 2011-present)
Dodge Magnum R/T from 2005 until 2008.
Chrysler 300C and 300S V8 models, 2005–present (2010, 2012–Present)
2005–present Dodge Charger R/T 2006–present Jeep Grand Cherokee 2006–present Commander Jeep
2007–2009 Nissan Aspen

Chrysler hemi engine 6.1L
There is also a 6,059 cc (6.1 L; 369.7 cu in) version of the Hemi. [27] The engine has several more modifications that enable it to produce 425 bhp (317 kW; 431 PS) at 6,200 rpm and 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of torque at 4,800 rpm. The engine’s bore x stroke are 103 mm 90.9 mm (4.055 in 3.579 in). With updated coolant channels and oil jets to cool the pistons, the engine block differs from the one in the 5.7 engine. Durability is improved with a forged crankshaft, lighter pistons, and stronger connecting rods. A cast aluminum intake manifold that lacks variable-length technology is tailored for high-rpm power. The 6.1 does not make advantage of the Multi-Displacement System from Chrysler. Chrysler hemi engine

Chrysler hemi engine 6.2L
In 2015, Chrysler unveiled the Hellcat, a brand-new, highly effective supercharged Chrysler hemi engine (named after the Grumman F6F Hellcat). [28] It has a 6,166 cc overall displacement and shares the same 4.09 in (103.9 mm) bore and 3.578 in (90.9 mm) stroke dimensions as the 6.4 L Hemi (6.2 L; 376.3 cu in). [28] 2,380 cc (145 cu in) twin-screw IHI supercharger with built-in charge coolers, delivering 11.6 psi (80 kPa; 0.80 bar) of boost. Chrysler hemi engine
This engine has a 9.5:1 compression ratio and is capable of producing 707 bhp (717 PS; 527 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm[28]. [28] Up until the Dodge Demon was released, this engine was the most potent Chrysler ever developed, as well as the most potent production engine ever in a muscle vehicle. [29] The Multi-Displacement System from Chrysler is not present in this engine. [29] The Hellcrate engine was going to be sold as a crate engine, Mopar stated in 2017. [30] In 2019, the Dodge Challenger introduced a Redeye version with 797 horsepower (808 PS; 594 kW), and in 2021, the Dodge Charger followed suit. Chrysler hemi engine
